In Rio Bravo, in the center of banana farming, Antigua Processors built from scratch a new factory equipped with state-of-the-art processing machineries and modern ripening chambers from well-known suppliers and based on the latest processing technology.
The factory has a year-round production with several processing lines and permanent optimization of the production.
At Antigua Proccessors, we are processing a wide range of banana products to fulfill our customers’ needs.
Our experienced plant and production management, in combination with a skilled and constantly trained team, are additional factors to meet our high self-proclaimed quality standards.
Our quality system at Antigua Processors is subject to our modern and strict quality philosophy. As well as audits being carried out regularly, we are continuously improving our production processes.
Antigua Processors follows international sustainability standards, such as the ETI Base Code, having successfully passed the
SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA). We respect human rights, ensure good working conditions, and comply with international labour rights in accordance with ILO conventions.
We source our raw material from banana plantations certified by the Rainforest Alliance or other sustainable plantations, that are located close to our production facility.
To improve our environmental performance further, we invested in a new wastewater treatment plant in 2022. We also plan to make our energy supply more sustainable and self-sufficient with the help of renewable energies.

Antigua Processors is regularly audited by several organizations.
The production conditions ensure food safety and conformity. Thanks to our vast experience, we are able to manufacture products according to the highest quality standards. Furthermore, our products comply with all relevant legal standards and the AIJN Code of Practice.
In addition, the quality system is regularly checked and supported by regular quality controls and the SGF certification. Antigua Porcessors‘ quality management system is also FSSC 22000 certified, a GFSI-recognised standard.
Antigua Processors owns a state-of-the-art internal laboratory where all relevant aspects are monitored by our qualified personnel. Moreover, full fruit traceability is guaranteed.
Antigua Processors holds several certifications and memberships to prove the high quality of the products being processed.
We are members of the Sure-Global-Fair (SGF) initiative, an international organization ensuring product safety and quality. The initiative offers a voluntary system for companies along the product life cycle from raw material suppliers to traders and bottlers. The SGF membership requires annual external audits checking production conditions, product quality and compliance with the Code of Business Conduct. Antigua Processors takes part in the Voluntary Control System (VCS) offered by SGF.
Antigua Processors is a member of Sedex, a renowned ethical trade organization. In 2022, we undergone a social audit at our site in Guatemala according to the SMETA 4-pillars scheme, which will be carried out every two years. The Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) which comprises Labour, Health & Safety, Environment, and Business Ethics Standards.
In order to contribute to a more sustainable planet in terms of environment, society and economy, we source at least 50% of our fresh bananas from Rainforest Alliance certified suppliers. This includes the local farmers.
Many of our banana farms in Guatemala are certified according to the Standard for Sustainably Grown Agricultural Crops. This certification aims to ensure sustainable farming practices, business integrity and ethical stewardship. Moreover, it is widely accepted and alignes with leading European and US standards.
All of our products are FSSC 22000 certified, confirming that they meet the highest food quality standards. This internationally recognized certification process includes regular audits of our products and production processess.
We support our customers believes and choices regarding their nutrition and lifestyle. We therefore obtained a Star-K Kosher certificate for all our products confirming that they are kosher.
